This photographic essay represents the geological stretch of the coast of the Algarve from Praia da Luz to Aljezur in the Natural park of Costa Vicentina.
There are a lot of factors that makes this place unique from the geological point of view, these protected areas presents magnificent exposure conditions and great geodiversity, including predominantly sedimentary rocks from Palaeozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic ages, sometimes in the same outcrop.
For me personally, born and raised in this area, there is a deep emotional connection with these pieces of memories from the passed. I believe these rock formations are living knowledge and cultural heritage from my own roots and it is essential for its appreciation and preservation.
The contents inherent to the diverse geological objects existing on our planet are a testament to the phenomena that occurred during the formation and evolution of the Earth.
